Since 1994, MHM’s subsidiary FHS has built its reputation on providing forensic mental health services that address client and public safety needs – delivered on demand and on time.
Designed and implemented by senior-level mental health clinicians, our forensic evaluation services are founded on evidence-based, best-practice models proven to help reduce risk. Assessments include:
Competency to stand trial
Need for psychiatric hospitalization
Criminal responsibility
Associated likelihood of harm to self or others
Need for mandated substance abuse treatment
FHS also evaluates individuals under consideration for civil commitment as sexually violent predators, and conducts pre-sentencing diagnostic evaluations of high-risk adults and juveniles who present with some combination of violent behavior, sexual offending, mental illness, personality disorders, and suicidal tendencies.
Because FHS evaluators have conducted thousands of these examinations, judges frequently ask FHS evaluators for specific recommendations regarding mental illness and/or substance abuse diagnoses, potential recidivism, risk of harm, amenability to treatment, and treatment needs.
